Q: What are some good ideas for a black 2007 honda civic sedan?
I just bought a 2007 honda civic not sure what to do to personalize it that is a reasonable price and I have no mechanic skills. By the way, this is my first car

A: Put on a body kit, honda approved upgraded brake pads, and a suspension lowering kit.

Q: How do I change my wipers on a 2004 Honda Civic?
Does anyone have experience changing the wipers on a 2001-2005 Honda Civic? Can’t seem to get mine off the arm even after reading the manual.

A: if you’re looking to replace the blades then lift the wiper arm up off of the windshield so that it stands up on the pivot. then flip the wiper blad over so that the rubber insert is facing upward.

look at the wiper arm that hold the blade. you’ll see the end of the arm looks like a hook ( J. ) push the wiper blade down the wiper arm (towards the windshield) until the wiper blade detatches from the hook. then move the wiper blade to the full side of the gap in the blade so that the hook slides through the opening and the blade is free from the arm.

once you do one you’ll get the hang of it.

pay attention to the orientation of the blade when you remove it so that you can put the new one on the same way.

by the way, its much less expensive to change the inserts (just the rubber that goes inside the metal blade). Honda dealers will usually put the inserts on at no charge if you buy the inserts from them

hope that helps

Q: How much does it cost to paint a 2001 Honda Civic LX coupe black?
I am looking to buy a 2001 Honda Civic LX coupe, and its a really good deal, but its bright gold. How much would it cost to have it painted black? I am able to spend upwards to 600-700 dollars, but wouldn’t mind spending less. At the same time, I don’t want a cheap job done and have my paint flaking a year later. Thanks so much!

A: u will not get it done for that much unless u go to someone who does it on the side, a shop will charge anywhere from 1500up

Q: How can I make my 89 Honda civic hatchback faster?
I resently bought a 1989 Honda civic hatch back and I love it am want it to last. How can I make it funer and faster?

A: okay screw the ppl who get on here saying your ride is crap, there just made cuz they dont have a car bro. and as far as a turbo if you feel like tearing ur motor apart and building the shit out of it to make it handle a turbo dont do it! but what you can do is pull ur motor out and put a ls motor from a integra in there or a gsr motor. or if your looking for bolt ons go with cold air intake, cam gears, take ur ac out and power steering, better plugs and plug wires (hotwires are a good brand u can find them on ebay), header, cat back, since its a 89 run some injector cleaner threw it and get a new fuel filter, they have this stuff at monroe muffler its called a 3 step if u can get that it cleans all the carbon out. thats just a few things u can do jump on passwordjdm.com they have a live chat on there u can talk to real pros.

Q: How much will it cost to replace transmission seals on a 95 honda civic?
I’m thinking of buying this 95 honda civic around 80k miles, but the seller says the transmission seals need to be replaced and I have no idea what that means. Is the car it worth it for $3000 or will I end up spending waaay more?

A: $3000 is way to high for that car, even if the transmission didn’t leak. You’d spend another thousand to replace the seals, and half the time they still leak after the job.

Q: How much should brake repairs cost for a 94 honda civic?
How much should it cost to replace the front end brake pads/shoes, calipers, brake fluid, rotors and/or drums on a 94 Honda Civic, including all parts and labour etc.? What can I do to make sure I’m not being overcharged or paying for unecessary repairs or services?

A: Call up a Honda dealer as well as a couple of other places to find out how much they will charge you. The two big differences will be the labour rates of each shop as well if they use original Honda parts or aftermarket parts.

Q: How to change battery on a keyless entry remote for a 2006 honda civic?
How to change battery on a keyless entry remote for a 2006 honda civic?

A: look on the back of the key. you’ll find a small phillips head screw at the bottom of the back by the metal key. remove that screw then simply pry the case apart at the bottom using your fingernail or a small screwdriver blade. the case with then separate in two and the battery is can be removed.

most Honda dealers will change the battery for you at no charge if you buy the battery from them

you’ll find the picture on page 85 of your owner’s manual if you have one.

hope that helps

as a note, there should be a red LED on the top of the remote that comes on when you press any of the buttons. if the light comes on, the battery is OK. if it doesn’t then its time to repalce the battery.

hope that helps

Q: why do the doors on my honda civic apparently not completely lock with the remote?
i have a 2001 honda civic, and when i press the lock button on the remote, it sounds like the doors are locking, but i have to press it a second time to get it to make the typical beep noise. every other car i’ve ever seen does that the first time. it seems so weird. is this normal?

A: Many cars lock when you push the button the first time and arm the alarm when you push the button the second time.

Test the system by pushing the lock button on the keyless entry one time and trying to open the doors. If the doors don’t open then your car probably works this way as well.

Q: How to set the valve lash on a 1994 honda civic?

Q: The blower motor in my 2003 Honda Civic will run for a few seconds then shut down, any ideas?
Honda Civic 2003 blower motor will run for a few seconds then will shut off until the key is cycled on/off. During those few seconds the fan will only run at one speed (there are about 8 positions). Anyone have any ideas?

A: Sounds like your blower resistor is shot. If the only fan speed that works is the highest then that is your problem. Replacing that resistor will solve your problem. If its still under warranty it shouldn’t cost you anything.

Q: How much would it cost to change a 05 honda civic timing belt myself?
I have a 2005 honda civic and i was wondering how much would it be to change the water pump and the timing belt myself?

A: the parts are cheap, its the labor that kills ya. Its really not that hard to do, just takes some time. you have to take a good amount of stuff apart, and making sure that you get the timing belt lined up correctly in crucial.

its good to also replace the valve cover gaskets while you have it off and all the other belts too. you can get a kit for about 180 that has all the gaskets and belts, or you can just buy the timing and pump separately for for like 30 bucks for the timing belt and water pump for about 60ish.

Q: What are my options for purchasing warranty on my Honda Civic?
Factory warranty on my 2004 Honda Civic LX has expired. Can someone tell me what are my options for purchasing warranty?

A: I agree with Sailor.

Honda Civics are very reliable. I have a 2000 Civic with 74K miles and with normal maintenance (3000-mile oil changes, air filters, radiator flush and spark plugs), it’s been running very well. To do: timing belt, water pump and transmission fluid flush, brakes. I expect more than 200K miles on the powertrain. I knew a guy who once got more than 650K miles on a 1980’s vintage Civic before he sold it and bought another Honda.

Find out how much you would have to spend on an extended warranty and put those funds in a money market account. Use it to pay for any catostrophic failures that probably won’t happen, and you will come out ahead at the end.

Any Honda dealer will be glad to quote and sell you a warranty. Also call your auto insurance agent or even AAA for a warranty quote.
