I’m trying to fix up my 67 Mustang and I’m wondering if anyone knows a shop in West Covina or close by so that I can fix up my Mustang. I would prefer a Mustang shop but any shop with a good reputation is worth checking out.

Q: why is the ‘67 mustang the most popular among all old mustangs?
i just noticed in tv shows, they mention the ‘67 mustangs more than the 65, 66, 68, and so on. i mean the 67 and 68 look exactly the same, but they’ll pick the 67 over the 68. and TV shows never mentioned the 70’s mustangs. and i never saw one until i found a pic. the ‘ 72 mustang looks good, but never saw a tv show about them…..why is the ‘67 the most popular?

A: It’s because of the shelby. That year the shelby version got a major face lift and made it really stand out from the other mustangs. Whenever I see or hear mention of the ‘67 it is always the shelby version.
The movie “Gone in 60 seconds” featured a ‘67 shelby and made them even more popular in recent years.
In my opinion the standard ‘67 lost a bit of its charm compared the previous years, but carroll shelby made his custom mustangs more than make up for it.

Long story short: It was groundbreaking.

Q: will a 67 mustang coupe trunk deck lid fit a 67 cougar?
i have a 67 mercury cougar and know that mustangs and cougars can share some parts but im not sure about a deck lid. i need a replacement and want to be 100% sure a mustang deck lid will fit my cougar before i spend money on it.

A: I can’t say 100%, but my buddy had the Cougar and I had the ‘Stang, both ’67s, and I’m pretty sure that the trunk lids were the same. We used to point out how similar the cars were!

Q: how easy is it to steal a 67 mustang?
i have a 67 mustang and live in la i was wondering if it would be a target of theft?
what can i also do to it to make it less likely to be stolen?

A: older cars are easier to steal, plus it doesn’t help that u live in LA. that car is high risk. put a gps tracker in it. use a removable steering wheel. install a fuel pump switch, so nobody can driveoff with it. hire a guard 24/7.

Q: What kind of wheels/tires should I put on my 67 Mustang?
Mustang 67 coupe stock high (I need the rims and tires size)
Thanks

A: American racing outlaw II’s look good on old mustangs. 15 or 16×7 with some 60 tires would be good.

Q: How much does a 67 mustang fastback cost?
I just need an approx. on how much a 1967 ford mustang fastback is.. thank you.

A: You picked the most popular and valuable one, a decent one will cost you $15,000, no joke…

Q: Where can I find an old 67 mustang that I can work on?
I want to acquire a old, beat up For Mustang fastback to fix up and restore, but nothing around my area seems to have one…. does anyone know where I can find one?

A: ebay motors, craigs list, newspaper, www.oldcartrader.com, http://ww2.collectorcartrader.com . Be patient. Even a beat up ‘67 Fastback is quite expensive and sought after. Also, if you don’t have the mechanical knowledge to do it from frame to finish, or you have a bunch of money to let someone else build it, don’t start. You’ll only ruin it and end up junking another classic car. Good choice in cars though. Good luck.

Q: can you install airbags on an old 67 shelby mustang?
I was thinking about purchasing an old 67 shelby mustang for my daughter or an old international harvester scout for her 16th birthday and I was wondering if it would be possible to install airbags on either one of these old cars and around how much it would cost. Thank you!

A: No………… and if you were to find something that might work, first where would it be mounted and second the cost and liability would cost more than the vehicle.

Q: Profit of restoring a 67 mustang?
I have just purchased a 67 mustang for 6500 and has a new engine. the interior and exterior is in good condition. Is it worth it to invest the time and money to fix it up? What is the maximum profit i could make?

A: Paint and seat covers can hide some pretty hideous secrets!! It’s REAL easy to “mud over” banged up panels and put carpet over hack-patched floor boards, I seen it PLENTY of times. Until you know the ACTUAL condition of your Mustang, you’re wasting your money. Brakes and electrical are REAL wallet openers. From there you have to have a plan of what to do: restoration, resto-mod, etc. Don’t forget to add that initial 6500 into your profit figures.

Q: What color should I paint my 67 mustang?
Im fixing up my mustang and its original color is gold but now its like a sandpaper brown. Im not sure what color to paint it.

heres how it looks gold:

Q: Should a Chevrolet Engine be put into a ‘67 Ford Mustang?
My dad wanted me to research on wether a Chevy Engine could be put into a ‘67 Ford Mustang. So i am going to find out if anyone out there can answer my question. Should a Chevy Engine Be Put Into a ‘67 Ford Mustang?

A: SUCH BLASPHEMY!

Q: I want to ship a 67 Mustang from California to Virginia, how much do you know it will cost? or should i drive?
It’s in okay running condotion, i’m not sure how many miles at this time. I’m in the military so if i do drive i have to request enough days off and i’m planning on doing this around the holidays. Christmas to be exact.

A: I have a 66 and its not the most comfortable car for long trips. Modern suspension and seat technology has spoiled most of us. If you are not used to uncomfortable rides that may be a deal breaker right there. But if you are a tank driver in the military you may find it very comfortable. They also dont have the best heat and defrosters and since you mentioned making that trip in the winter through at least some areas that may be cold and snowy that should be a factor to think about. After that you are left with a 40+ year old car that may or may not have any updates. Drum brakes can be an adventure in modern traffic, the list goes on. If you have a breakdown on the road parts may be hard to find. They are easy to get mail order but finding them in stock where you are is a whole different story. Unless you are looking for an adventure and have plenty of time to take what comes I would be looking at shipping.

Q: I want to make a 67 mustang c02 car?
I want to make a 67 mustang c02 car? I need to do it for scoole but I need to find an easy way to make the body. I can’t glue enything on I have to make it out of a block of wood.

A: I assume you have only one block of wood and set of axles that you are required to use.
The first thing to do is to collect images of the Mustang you wish to model. Just a yahoo image search for 67 mustang yield many to choose from. Pick several with overhead, front , rear and side views.
Beginning with the side view, Cut the block to the silhouette of the mustang. Then do the same with the overhead view. Next cut out the chamber for the CO2 cartridge, and wheel wells and then drill for the axles. If you wait too late for this step, you will damage your finished surfaces.
Next grind to shape the edges of the upper body, noting the slight edge on the top of the fender in the front and none in the back. Shape the front windshield, curving from side to side. Round off the top of the body. Shape the hood leaving the ridge in the center and the slight V shaped rise on the top.
Drill for the center of the head lights and hollow-out the headlight recess. Hollow-out the grill recess, leaving a thick ridge for the bumper. It does not need to be deep to scale.
Next a recess for the rear panel would be hollowed-out.
Sand and paint, fit the wheel into the wells, cut the axles to fit and install.
Someone with woodworking tools could do it in a day.
Someone with a laser could do it in half a day.
Either way it is not easy.

Q: what are important parts I need to focus on when restoring a 67 Mustang?
It doesnt run i got an overhaul kit for engine. I want to know what are other safty things to take care of and how much. Its a little rusty but not to bad.

A: Body rust is easily repaired. Watch for rust around suspension parts, especially in the front end. Make sure you do a good job on the brakes and suspension, then do the body (except for paint), then do the engine and transmission (if necessary). Redo the interior, then paint the car. Good luck!

Q: What is the biggest size rims i can put on a 67 mustang coupe?
where can i find them for a affordable price?

A: What size do you want?

17X9 with a 5inch packspace will fit, 15X10 with a 5.5″ backspace will fit also. I’m not too sure about the fronts. There is a shop on Ebay that sells 17s for early Mustangs (NO SPACER REQUIRED) with tires for about $1500. Tire Rack has a next to NOTHING for a 67 Mustang.
