Q: What should i do to my engine to get more horesepower. 1969 Mustang 351 Clevland Motor?
I was thinking new a new cam kit with the dual timing chain springs and all, eddlebrock intake either performer or RPM,a new carb, and some headers. What would youall suggest. for each of these.
it is the 2V kind not the 4V
yes i am aware of the hood clearance so i will need to keep that in mind. The carb will be no bigger than a 650cfm. Dont want to make the car too radical i want it streatable but with some power mabe when i am done i will slap a 50 shot on it and go chase down some rice burners.

A: I grew up on Ford’s. You have alot of potential there. Start with a set of headers and dual exhaust. Now you didn’t say whether or not you plan a tear down and rebuilt but if you do, get the heads ported and polished when you rebuild the heads to match up with the headers. Watch the duration & lift on your cam so it will stay streetable. I would say stick around 600cfm on the carb with an aluminum intake that’s not to high so you can close the hood without cutting it out. Double row gears are ok, definately get an aluminum flex fan. I would think about running a high volumn oil pump to. That’ll get you started.

Q: Is it possible to get a 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 for $20k?
I’m turning 17 soon, looking at the car market a lot, and I have a new found respect and obsession for classic cars. Today I stumbled upon this beauty of a car known as the 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1.

It looks like the new Mustang, which I knew was a retro version of this version. But the classic model looks much tougher and rugged.

I was wondering if it is possible to find a nice restored one like this one: http://homepages.ius.edu/tguelda/MUSTANG1.jpg

for like $20k?

Would it be a bad idea to learn how to drive manual on this car as well? Most importantly, is it even safe, being an old car?

A: Sure, but it may need some work

Q: Does anyone have the 1969 Mustang Gauge cluster diagram?
I accidentally disconnected all the wires and I can’t find a manual that would show the wiring. I have a 1969 mach 1. Thanks

A: look at the Early Mustang Chilton..

Q: what is the best exhaust system for a 1969 mustang with a 302?
i just dont know what the best ones are. many people have suggested the flowmaster T 40. any thoughts?
yeah im not looking for headers… for now

A: Are you looking for mufflers or a full system, including headers?

Flowmaster is usually relatively cheap and decent quality stuff, but most aftermarket exhaust companies (including flowmaster) usually do cat-back or header-back only, meaning it doesn’t include headers. Headers for a 302 are an easy find from someone like Flo-Tech, Hooker Headers, Heddman etc etc…..

Q: How much is a mustang 1969?
Im looking at getting a ford mustang 1969. And was wondering whats the normal price for one

A: all depends, restored, unrestored, V8 or inline six? you want a fastback or notch back? fast back restored will be 15,000 to 20,000 <-for a nice one...fast back unrestored will be around 10,000 give or take. notch backs are much cheaper you can get a nice restored one for around 5-6,000

Q: on a scale of 1 to 10 how rare is a 1969 mustang fastback?
my aunts first car was a 1969 mustang fastback then she sold it to her brother and he got it stolen and i just want to prove to him how big of a mistake he made lol

A: Well if a Boss 429 was a 10, and a Mach I a 9, that would make a regular sports roof (fastback) a 8…

Q: Does anyone know where to get a Black 1969 Boss 429 Mustang diecast model?
Just looking for a place that sells a Black 1969 Boss 429 Mustang diecast model, my father owns the real car but I’m looking for a diecast to give to him as a gift but not having any luck finding a black one. Any help would be great.

A: did you try ebay? http://toys.shop.ebay.com/Diecast-Toy-Vehicles-/222/i.html?_nkw=boss+mustang&_catref=1&_fln=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m282

Q: What transmission and motor should i put into my 1969 GT mustang that will make it fast without spending 5K+?
I know its not very practical of a price but i can search and find it cheap i hope. i got this body of the mustang and the engine and transmission were both taken out before i got it. I want it to be fast and perform well without spending alot. any car people please help me out.

A: Buy a 302 block and bore it out…… about the best you can do with that car…… also, shave the heads, put on performance cams and intake manifold, as well as a new carb. You should be able to afford it with no problem.

Q: How much would u pay for a 1969 Mustang in good condition & apprx. 80,000 miles.?
Its not a convertible, good but not great paint job & good looking interior. “Good condition”
Owner wants $11,5000!

A: Try driving it, there has to be a reason why the owner is selling it. It may look great but look for any rust or anything you could say to the owner that could help you talk the price down. I would pay around $7000 – $8000 considering that the car is in working and good condition. Keep in mind the car is over 41 years old so really make sure it’s worth every dollar that you’re willing to pay.

Q: How much would a mach 1 Mustang 1969 model go for now?
If it was fully restored and in great condition, about how much could someone get off it?

A: you’re looking at 30-100 grand unless you can find a good deal on ebay thats close to where you are

Q: Does anyone truly know the differences in the body of a normal 1969 mustang fastback and a 1969 shelby gt?
now i know that the front clip and tail light are different from say a boss car and the body stretched 4 inches but was this stretch done in the front clip? or the entire body so the wheelbase is different from a shelby car and a boss car.

A: The 1969 Mustang was not called a fastback by Ford but a “Sports Roof” and while the car was 4 inches longer over all than the 1968 fastback it still had the same 108 inch wheel base that the earlier cars all the way back to ‘65 had. The Shelbys used a fiberglass front end and hood and a bigger grill but the interior was the Mustang Deluxe Decor group. They also had a 108 inch wheel base. Overall length for the Shelby was 190 inches while the Mustang was 187.4. The 1970 model Shelbys were left over ’69s that were upgraded.

Q: Any interchangeable body parts for a 1969 Mustang GT?
I hate the way the quarter panels look on this car. I would like to possibly swap them for some 68 or 67 panels. If this is possible could it be done without a gigantic amount of fabrication?

A: The best thing to interchange on that car would be the owner. There is a reason it’s a classic

Q: Is someone selling a 1969 mustang mach1 for $4000 a scam?
The selling advertised in the Chicago Sun Times and claims to be in Montana. They sent me a picture of a mint looking mach 1. They tell me they will ship it here for free. I will most definitely not be sending any money until the shipment is received.
I checked the VIN number, but info is limited on vehicles made before 1981. The limited info that can be attained from the number checks out though.

A: Just use a broker. If it is a scam then the words “broker” will scare them off.

Q: How do you remove the gas tank from a 1969 Ford Mustang fastback?
My dad and I are fixing his ‘69 Fastback and it needs a new gas tank. The gas tank is directly below the trunk, in fact the top of it makes the bottom of the trunk. There are blots visible and it looks as if you could simply remove them and take the tank up and out, but the tank is bigger than the trunk, so we’re looking for advice. Thanks!

A: take all the bolts out and it should lift out.. but take off all the attachments first..

Q: Is it possible to put a Mustang 05 4.6L V8 into a 1969 Mustang?
Is this possible? I know it takes out of the muscle car experience by putting a new engine in, but it really cuts down on fuel costs. Also, any ideas about the cost of this?
Ive found just the 05 engine alone, and just want to take out the 69 one and put in the 05.

A: It can be done but you need the computer and wiring for that 05 engine and you will need to get an electric fuel pump too.
